Smell of orange

Sweet smell of orange

reminds me of happyness

of bright winter mornings.

And birds looking for shelter

from the snow.

My hands red and freezy

and my nose as cold as ice.

The smell of orange

reminds me of warm wool

the red wool of my too long

red scarf.

A present I loved.

The magic of the

orange, the juicy golden fruit

I loved in my childwood and still do.

Reminds me of  the glowing

of winter sunny mornings

when happyness was

only  a nose stuck on

a frozen window pane

looking up to diamonds

falling from the sky.

  1. Ma non devi essere affatto pentita (come hai scritto nel thread Genio, leggendo la poesia di Keats) di avere pubblicato questa tua poesia la cui freschezza e immediatezza di ispirazione traspare da ogni verso.
    D’altro canto, composta in meno di ventiquattro ore (e in lingua inglese), non poteva essere altro che un lampo di ispirazione scoccato nell’anima.
